The library offers a selection of kids books in different languages available at our branches.

Dual Language Picture Books
The library also has a number of dual language books that feature stories in English and a second language. They are shelved with the foreign language children’s books and feature a Dual Language sticker on the spine.
Dual-Language Kids Audiobooks
VOX audiobooks are the world’s first all-in-one read-along. Young readers can listen to lively narrators read through the story while they flip the pages on their own. No headphones, computer, or Internet access necessary. Find all-in-one books with audio for kids in the library catalogue, available at all our branches.

The library is a safe place for you to learn and connect with others. Develop your language skills with registered and drop-in events offered by the library with community partners. RHPL offers a large selection of print magazines and newspapers in a variety of languages. Newspapers are available in the library and cannot be checked out. Magazines can be checked out for one week with no holds or renewals. Browse selections from our catalogue below.

hoopla offers a great selection of movies, television shows, music, ebooks, audiobooks and comics in various languages. Download content to your device with no wait times or holds. To search by language, select Advanced Search and filter by your preferred language. Limit of 10 checkouts per month.
Kanopy
Explore a collection of over 30,000 films on your desktop, TV, or mobile device. Click Search and use the filters to find titles in a wide variety of languages. You can also filter by caption languages.
LibraAcademia
Libra Collections includes Persian ebooks, magazines, audiobooks and manuscripts. Browse through Persian literature, Eastern history, and more.
LinkedIn Learning
Advance your career or learn a new language with expert-led courses in Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. Log into LinkedIn Learning with your Richmond Hill Public Library card and click the globe icon in the top right corner and select your preferred language.

This digital resource introduces kids up to 6 years to languages in a way they can understand and enjoy.
