Introducing Automatic Renewals

Exciting news! Starting Tuesday, Sept. 23, some borrowed items will be eligible for automatic renewal. Eligible items will be automatically renewed two days before their due date, up to three times.

If your item is automatically renewed, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the new due date. If an item can’t be renewed—because it’s at the renewal limit, there's a hold on it, or it’s not eligible for renewal—you’ll need to return it by the due date.

Please note there are also new renewal limits that take effect on Sept. 23.

  • Books, audiobooks, non-fiction DVDs, STEAM and Learning Kits: renew up to 3 times

  • CDs, DVDs, and video games: renew up to 3 times
